definitely dark grey in color when black is chosen. not too bad to put together. i suggest dont tighten screws all the way until they are all set except for the seat tighten a couple r set then tighten almost set and put in the other screws ... we put 4 together so that worked for us.. overall i love them they r comfy and sterdy. very pleased.
