not only recommend this item but highly recommend this item as a temporary replacement for paper and ink. this board is powered by a single CR 2016 button cell battery and has the option of write protecting if not using the pad for a short time as with 5 - 30 minutes or longer without losing your data, prose, etc. it's easily cleaned with a clean white cloth and alcohol sparingly. For mine I put in a lanyard for pad and a tab for the stylus to make handling and writing nearly effortless.
