Remove clear plastic strip in battery compartment

Read the negative reviews. Clip being upside down is not good. However, please note this: you must unscrew the back of the device where batteries are located. There is a clear plastic strip between the batteries to preserve battery life before ready for the new consumer to use. Simply pull out that out and it will work! So, it really is a good device.

Great for seniors!

I have these all over the house, in every spot where my 84 year old father hangs out. When he presses that button, rest assure that everyone in the house runs over to him. Piece of mind that if he needs someone within the house , he doesn't have to mess around with the phone.
