Classic TV Dinner For a Modern Age

I've been eating Banquet Salisbury Steak TV dinners since I was a little kid. Same great taste. I remember when they originally came in an aluminum foil tray and had to be cooked in the oven for 30 minutes. switching them to a cardboard tray and making them microwavable was a great improvement. Banquet has changed out the sides over the years, they were originally peas and mashed potatoes. That was my favorite. The current offering of corn, mashed potatoes, and apple cobbler is good, too. At least the cobbler is edible. For awhile , it had a brownie that had the texture of a brick. I'd prefer they skipped the dessert, though, in favor of a larger portion of corn.

A few in freezer eventually comes in handy !

These are more like mid day meal (like sandwich) vs a dinner meal. Their portions are small, but so is their price. So they fit the bill. Having a few around can take care of a quick meal without fuss or when you just dont feel like cooking. They taste ok. Nothing spectacular. But they are not suppose to taste that way. They are suppose to just have a change from cooking or a sandwich. It does the job.

should eliminate apple sauce, why, because the mashed potatoes are soggy. with gravy on top and steak on top of that , should be just mash potatoes separate, steak and gravy. 3 portions. whomever comes up with it is not thinking, they should try it. I'm sure they will agree with me.
