Duraflame Gold Ultra Premium 4.5 lb. Firelogs, 6-Pack Case, 3 Hour Burn

Good product. Be aware, operative words on the box are “burns up to 3 hours”. In my experience, the last 30 minutes are only small flickers and most of the time the log is out before 3 hours. Still as long as you realize that fact, these logs are still worth it. Rarely, I have to restart the log, but most of the time they light up quickly and look great. So much more convenient than regular wood. I have been buying these for over 15 years and am still pleased. There are 2 versions of the Duraflame 4.5 lb log, the black version here and the yellow version sold elsewhere. Reading the ads, there is supposed to be a difference, but I cannot tell any difference between the two. I have burned both types today (see attached) and they both lasted 2.75 hours, again with the flicker for the last part. The lighter weight logs do not last as long, as you would expect. I have never noticed any bad smell, but I ensure reasonable ventilation. These are not cheap and the prices vary, so check, compare and calculate price per log. It may be better to buy the 3, 6, or 9 log pack. They burn completely, but do leave some ash, which I clean out after every 10 or so burns. Bottomline, these logs are worthwhile. They will last just about exactly the length of a regulation NFL game, or the time to read 8 chapters of your most recent novel, with a glass of brandy in your hand.
