Effective, materials for price make: good value

The materials for the price constitute the draw. Useful (but not available when needed when winter began, despite exhaustive Walmart search)... I found out because the Magellan duck boots I bought wore out within three weeks of normal use through a four-month season of some of the worse weather on record, I had a chance to try these just at the end. How I wish they had been available then, instead of showing up only months later, despite constant searching! Pro: they hold up, as duck boots should; waterproof. If they really do combine real leather and rubber as the claim says, they are a bargain, as they are well constructed for use in bad, slushy, rainy conditions. Neutral: The duck style is is completely different from the brown, is incomplete because of the material overlap (see con), and construction of the boot sold if the color option 'brown' is selected: I wanted brown, but the black the seem to look more durable. Caveat: it gives 'hiking' as a potential use, and I would emphatically say that this is entirely contraindicated: the boots are made for walking; hiking boots are another animal, entirely! Con: The 'duck' tow overlaps the leather, covering it from the top, which looks annoyingly odd and stupid: an obvious shortcut so the manufacturer would not have to sweat combining looks and functionality. The soles are to thin, and the material is not slip-proof. The lack of arch-support, and lining material which snags the woolen socks they are supposed to be worn with, dragging them off the feet and stuffing them into the toe of the shoe withing minutes of walking. Better double the lining so we can go barefoot in them!
