This is my third time buying this brand because they are reliable, bright, and economical. They are very bright for such a small flashlight. They fit well in purse, pocket, glove box, etc. The material they are made from is a soft plastic (or other material) that feels durable and pleasant in your hand. The flashlights came with the batteries already installed (yay, because I was dreading that extra task). There's a protective disk between the battery case and the cap which must be removed prior to use
