Proper Assembly

I don't find this product of low quality, or "flimsy" at all. When you assemble it, you have to properly tighten the components as you go along. Just like a building, you have to use both stress and pressure to achieve strength. As you tighten each upright member, and it contacts the wood surface, you can tighten it an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turns, at least. Hand tighten until snug against the wood, using NO TOOLS! You can maintain 90 degree alignment as you go so that the uprights and feet look nice and square. The top caps are a little difficult to tighten adequately. I used a cloth handkerchief between thumb and forefinger for better grip. As you assemble, be sure not to cross-thread anything. If it's difficult to turn, it's likely cross-threaded. Hope this helps.

I read the description before buying so I knew this was a little over a foot high assembled. I read the negative reviews and thought I would give it a try anyways because I'm a single mom on a budget. It was stupid easy to put together, but sturdy enough I feel comfortable putting my TV and some decor on it. I'm a simple woman. I have a 32 or 34 inch tv (I can't remember). It fits nicely and has room on each side. It's plenty sturdy. I'm considering getting some furniture risers to make it a little bit taller, but overall for what I spent I'm happy.
