Heavy-duty construction - excellent!
Item arrived undamaged and on schedule. The quality is surprising, with all components (even back closure) made of heavy, pressed wood panels covered with a protective (vinyl?) finish. Assembly instructions omitted one or two details, but could be followed with successful outcome. Cam-lock fittings provide superior joints and overall strength. Very satisfied with this item!! Hint: Assemble the bookcase near its final location...two normal men required to move it due to its total weight. It is a healthy piece of furniture.

Quality piece of furniture
This bookcase was exactly what I wanted. Although the first one was damaged, Sam's Club did a quick exchange even sending Fed Ex to pick it up from my home. The biggest difference between this and other bookcases I looked at online was the back. Rather than a cardboard back, this has a solid wood back as thick as the top, sides and shelves. This makes for a heavy but very sturdy shelf. And it was priced better than most of the less well built ones. Assembly was very easy and directions clear. Well worth the inconvenience of having to return the first one.
