It took a while to assemble but I expected that. It feels very sturdy and my husband has some heavy books which have held up well for the past couple of months. I wish the drawer compartment was bigger, but overall we are very happy with it. We didn't add some of the shelves because we wanted bigger shelves and wouldn't use the tiny compartment if we did add all those...it's a plus that you can decide how big or small you want the compartments (except for the drawers)

This piece was exactly what I needed for my space and organizational needs. It's pretty and very sturdy. I'd even say more than I expected. The only reason I don't give it straight 5 stars is on the assembly but that's my fault not the manufacture's. I'm pretty handy when it comes to assembling things but when I opened the box I was overwhelmed with all the pieces. I tried for a brief minute then decided it would be best to pay someone to do it. It was an awful lot of pieces but after the finished product was assembled you have to understand why. Every nook and cranny was firmly secured. I simply bit off more than I could chew. But if you are great At assembling very detailed and tiny pieces I highly recommend this piece. Well worth its value.
