Springfield Premium Folding Seat

I replaced an old original plastic seat with this seat from Walmart. It is nicely cushy and feels very solid. You can tell it is of good quality, not some flimsy seat. The underside didn't have a mounting plate, but just plastic. So I had to buy an adapter at West Marine to go between the pedestal and the seat. In the second photo you can see the underside of the seat (black) with the silver adapter. The bad part about ordering through Walmart online was that there was NO description on how the underside looked - yet this is one of the most important parts of the seats! The adapter cost me another $40 or so. Maybe another seat would have come with that adapter already. There just wasn't a way to tell. I guess I could have returned it, and ordered another one.... but NONE of those seats showed the underside. So, I gave this seat 5 stars because I am thinking that ANY of those seats would need this adapter.... so I might as well disregard the extra cost. It gets 5 stars because it is well made, the foam is nice; the seat folds down and compared to others the price is about right too (just below $100) -- everything one desires for the Captains seat!
