Wide Calf Opaque Compression Socks for Women and Men 20-30mmHg Black, 5X-Large

I've bought these for years in the 15-20mmHg to control venous stasis above my ankles. They're the only compression socks I've ever come across that have some padding in the foot, and this crew version is comfortable to wear even in summer. I hope they never stop making them. They used to be a cotton blend. The newer material has no cotton, it's thinner and stretchier. I've seen a rather dramatic acceleration of my VS, so I tried this higher compression model of the same sock. I can definitely feel the difference where that band is, and the fit and comfort is identical. I just wish both versions were truly a graduated compression, instead of a 5" band just above the foot, that cuts off abruptly. I just placed another order of the knee high version of this, which I always do before winter comes. All in all, very good socks.

I got a size 5x because of my size and the swelling I get while at work. I am wearing them for the first time tonight (work a night shift). I find the foot and ankle area dont have enough compression (too loose!) but the top is too tight and uncomfortable. I thought maybe they would feel better the longer they are on but 3 hours later, still too loose at the bottom and uncomfortably tight at the top.
