Wish I Switched Over Sooner

After using a pellet grill for the past four years and not happy with the lack of versatility, when it finally had an issue and it was time to replace it, I went with this Webber. So far it's been great. I've cooked steaks, hamburgers, chicken thighs and wings and everything has turned out very good. It's taking some time to get used to adjusting the temp, and I'm still working on that, but with time and experience I'm sure I'll get it down. The versatility is what I like the most about the grill. Being able to cook with indirect heat and then sear on direct heat is great, something I couldn't do with the pellet grill. The flavor in the meat is great, I've been using lump charcoal and if I want a little smoke I've drop some hickory chunks in there. I actually prefer the flavor better on this grill than the pellet. If you're on the fence about getting one I would say go for it.

Love it! I haven't used charcoal in over twenty years. I've used gas grills, wood coal cookers and my bbq pit and wanted to give charcoal another try. I wanted the flavor I remember as a kid. I have used my 22” kettle for chicken, burgers, pork chops, pork loin, meat loaf, squash, zucchini, asparagus, potatoes, corn and even blackberry cobbler. I have been extremely pleased with how well the charcoal lasts and how precise I can keep the temperature. This has been more fun to cook complete meals and keep the heat out of the house. Another Weber success!
