Sterilite 50 Gal Extra-Large Plastic Storage Bin with Snap-On Lid, Gray

I used this storage bin, along with a smaller 116 quart bin, to make an outdoor insulated cat shelter. It worked perfectly for what I needed, which was to house one adult female and her four 5-week old kittens. I used 1/2 inch styrofoam insulation in between the storage bins and 5mm reflective insulation inside the smaller bin, including the floor and ceiling. I added plenty of straw, cut a 5.5 diameter circle entrance hole 6" from the bottom and on the corner of a long side of the bin to minimize air flow, added an entrance made of a plastic flower pot, and duct taped everything together including taping down the lid. I placed the cat house on four cinderblocks and added some weight to the top to keep the structure safe and secure and in place. It's set up in a wooded area where I've cleared a decent path to.
