Ray's® No Sugar Added Original Barbecue Sauce 18.5 oz

sugar-free barbecue sauce is better than I expected. Didn't get an 'artificial sweetener' aftertaste and it's nice and tangy.

I love this BBQ sauce. It tastes like regular barbecue sauce. It's mildly sweet, slightly spicy, and doesn't have any weird aftertaste. I would classify this as a mildly spicy sauce. It doesn't burn the mouth, but has a nice kick to it. It is a tomato based sauce. I don't get any strong taste of vinegar. It works well in the oven, such as on BBQ chicken, pork chops, or ribs. It caramelizes well and leaves a nice, sticky, sweet coating on the meat. I like it best when baked onto the meat, but it also tastes good straight. It's a pretty concentrated flavor. You don't need that much. If you have too much, it can overpower the taste of the meat, so pour judiciously. This sauce allows you to avoid sugar, but it doesn't taste like you're avoiding sugar. The one drawback- it's about 3 times as expensive as a regular, sugared barbecue sauce. It goes fast, too. But a great sauce, great taste, no aftertaste, and works well in cooking.
