Diamond Crystal Bright and Soft Water Softener Salt Pellets, 40 lb Bag

I was skeptical at first. The whole "pellet vs rock" debate feels like a salt-laden version of the great pizza topping war. One side swears by raw rock, the other preaches pellet purity. In the end I just wanted something that wouldn't melt into a glittery mess and that would actually fit in my softener without a backstage pass. These 40-lb pellets slide right in, no drama, no extra cleaning ritual. The real show-stopper, however, is the bag itself. It comes with a sturdy handle on both ends, like a set of twin lanyards for a very heavy, very salty backpack. I can lift the whole sack with one hand, flip it over with the other, and still have enough grip to keep it from rolling into the dog's water bowl. No extra charge for the double grip, just pure convenience. Installation was a breeze. I opened the bag, poured the pellets into the softener reservoir, and the bag stayed neatly coiled like a well-behaved snake. The handles make it feel like I'm holding a pair of tiny, industrial dumbbells - satisfying and oddly motivating. No fiddly loose rock that slides around and disappears behind the washer. The pellets are uniform, bright, and look like tiny snowballs, which makes the whole thing look cleaner than a lab coat. Ease of use is another win. When the softener runs low, I just grab the bag by one handle, tilt it, and pour. The second handle acts as a stopper; I can press it against the edge of the reservoir to keep the bag from tipping over. It's the kind of thoughtful design that makes me wonder why other brands don't add a handle on each side for free. The bag also folds nicely for storage, and the handles don't snag on the shelf. Appearance? Bright white pellets in a clear bag that shows off the salt like a showcase of tiny diamonds. The handles are a contrasting navy, giving the bag a sporty, ready-for-action vibe. It looks like something a professional chef would use for a gourmet brine, not a laundry room. Overall, whether you pledge allegiance to rock or pellets, this bag makes the whole softening process feel like a well-engineered, double-handed dance. Five stars for the handles, the easy pour, and the fact that I never have to wrestle a bag of jagged rock again.
