These pencils are a game changer for me

The array of colors are fabulous. I'm new to colored pencil artwork but I love how these go down on the paper, can be layered to create new colors and intensified. I had a mishmash of hand-me-down pencils which sufficed for a bit but I am so glad these Faber Castel pencils were recommended to me.

Excellent first impression opening the tin. A fine selection of graded primary colours, dark through lighter tones of each group. Just what I had hoped for. Swatch testing is proving the truth to the claim; bright, clear, smooth, blendable and feeling unlikely to break or shatter. I do have a heavy hand from time to time. The only colored pencils you need!

These Polychromos pencils are the workhorse of the colored pencil world. They keep a nice sharp point, and are primarily oil based. They layer very well! You could pair them with a wax based set, or use them alone and be very pleased with your results. You can also replace individual pencils without having to buy an entire set. I am a colored pencil artist and I highly recommend these!
