RCA Voyager 7" 16GB Tablet Android OS - Charcoal - RCT6873W42

I like this tablet! Not sure why all the bad reviews. Not at this price. The only bad thing, imo, is the camera, but I don't need selfies. This tablet has Android 8.1 GO edition. Mine had quite a few system updates in the first 2 days. I suggest just letting it happen and not trying to do multiple things while it's updating the system and all the pre-installed apps. I also suggest just signing in with your Gmail account instead of copying your phone, because the google apps on your phone are different than the google apps made for the GO edition of Android 8.1 installed on this tablet. I had to go back and delete several google apps copied from my phone and have had no problems with the Google GO apps pre-installed on the tablet. Actually there are some fun features my Samsung phone running regular Android 8.1 doesn't have. The screen isn't as great as my phone, but again, the price... there are a few ways to adjust the picture. Not many installed wallpapers, but I installed a wallpaper app and now have thousands. Also-- some apps that I installed from Google play said they may not work with this device, but they do. How I use the tablet successfully-- I close apps when not in use. I close chrome links after using them instead of having a dozen pages open in chrome. I read a lot using the overdrive app for free library books. It works great. I play solitaire and it's great. No idea how the tablet works on fast games. This tablet is almost as fast as my phone. The sound is loud enough to hear and then some. You Tube works. The installed music app is great. The tablet does get a little warm, but not too much and only if I'm on the internet while charging, doesn't get warm when reading books. (Manual says not to use it while charging, but sometimes I do.) It's never gotten warm enough to concern me or I would shut it down. It doesn't hold a charge long. Not that huge a deal for me because I'm retired and usually home. I plug it in when it's in the 40s, as advised in the manual. I leave in on all day, shut it down when I go to sleep. It starts up pretty fast, and I usually give it a few minutes to update or whatever before I start using it. Read the user manual, check all the settings to get it the way you want it. My last word is-- remember the price. Using it the way I use it I haven't had ANY problems with it freezing or running slow. I'm not a gamer or anything intense like that. I just ordered a second one for my 3 YO grandson. You Tube kids, Disney +, Netflix, Hulu all work great.

Purchased two RCA tablets in a pink and a blue for my 10 year olds. The tablets seem to operate perfectly fine depending on how my children decide to treat them. Have not had any loading issues, moves through applications smooth and quick. So far so good for the price and for the fact they are in the hands of kids! Makes it all worth the purchase. Personally I wouldn't mind having this tablet for myself.
