Animals Memory Match Game (Set of 72 Cards) (Other)

I was in search of a classic memory match game for my four-year old granddaughter, and I hit the jackpot with this selection. The concept is simple. Determine how many of the 36 pairs to play with, then flip them over—scrambled but in rows—and take turns flipping two at a time to find matching pairs. A laminated instruction card is included. I really wanted the animals to have the expected look. Over the years I've bought many games with an unexpected challenge—animals that don't look like the preschooler's expectation, and then they struggle to call the animals by name. But the art on these cards is basic and familiar. Bright colors, and simple and recognizable cartoon art make this a winner. The next most important factor to me is the cardstock. I've wasted so much money buying games with cardstock that is flimsy, warped, sharp, etc. This game is made of very nice thick cardstock making it easy to pick up from a flat surface. The corners are rounded to avoid bending or poking, and the surface is laminated and could be wiped down. The cards are about two inches square and the game box is about five inches square. Dividers in the box will help with returning the cards into four neat stacks. The box itself looks nice enough to gift, and its compact size means it won't take up too much space on a bookshelf or toy cupboard. My only complaint is the fine threadlike strands inside the box. Not a big enough deal to lose a star over, though. It's basically like the cardboard dust in jigsaw puzzle boxes; a slight annoyance. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to introduce my granddaughter to a classic game!

This is perfect! My 2 yr old and 4 Yr old grandkids and I can play together.
