Very Clean Clothes, Reliable and Good Value

If you need a good quality washer for an apt. or house w/out washer dryer hookups, this is much better than the Costco wash/spin machine. The only difference between this Hamilton Beach (AKA Black and Decker or RCA) portable washer is basically -- it's portable, and there are also steps you need to take to set up the hose to fill the washer each time. This is especially true if you don't have a high water pressure from your bathroom sink faucet. However, these matters can be overcome, and the quality wash is far superior to the Costway washer/spinner and coin laundries. Definitely set aside a good half hour to read the instructions and set up the washer. FITTING FOR HOSE - MADE MY OWN PVC CONNECTOR For me, I couldn't get my bathroom sink fitting off, so I bought PVC plumbing hose %26 PVC cutter, %26 cut it to size, and secured both ends with 2 hose clamps that you can tighten (or loosen) with a Phillips screwdriver. So, when I'm ready to wash, I tighten the bottom part (that is attached to the fitting for the washer hose), and I tighten the top end to the bathroom sink fitting (that is still in the bathroom faucet). I'm explaining this, because it only cost a few $'s plus PVC cutter to use this fitted PVC hose, and I really liked the Hamilton Beach personal washing machine. Note, if you create this PVC/hose clamp system, you are literally just adding a plumbing quality hose over both the hose and your bathroom sink fitting, so you are not changing the washer hose, itself. FILLING WITH WATER One main tip I will give you in understanding the machine is, water must go from faucet through the hose into the washer. The washer senses the water coming in (which is about 5 min. for a medium load), senses the load, and then the washer senses whether the water covers the load (for the size load you selected). I have decent (but not great) water pressure coming from my bathroom sink, but sometimes the washer stops filling with water and starts it's cycle, and then later, senses there is not enough water. In this case, pause, then shut off, and run the cycle one more time, and the washer will accept enough water from your faucet to fill where it needs to be. Then, just let it finish that cycle. I would recommend starting with a small load, to get an idea if your bathroom sink is filling enough water in the time the washer allows; then you can try a medium, or full load. Also, put your clothes in with detergent before you start the load. If you open the lid, you have to start all over. This washer always gets clothes clean, and I am picky, as I exercise and work outside a lot, and I expect clean clothes. So, you don't have to worry about that. Also, the spin cycle is very robust and I don't have to worry that there is water left in the machine. My clothes come out slightly damp every time. I also bought a Panda portable dryer that also does an excellent job, %26 I would recommend both.

I've been looking for a portable washing machine for months! I finally found this on Walmart's website and it's a compact washing machine. Just like the big ones just a little smaller. I got it in 24 hours! I live in an RV and have an outdoor gazebo room that I have it in. It easily hooked up to a regular water hose and we found a long drain hose to take the drain water over to the RV sewer dump. We followed the instructions to the tee and everything worked perfectly. Started washing clothes and got three loads done in one morning, they spun out excellently and hung them to dry in our gazebo with the wind from a fan. The only complaint I could have with this at this time would be that they do tangled the clothes but I haven't found too many large washers that don't tangle clothes, so in between the washing and rinse cycle after it spins out the water I pause it and untangled my clothes and then started it again. I have allergies to soap and fragrances. I've had to use laundromats for a long time and I've had difficulty with bad odors, pet debris, laundry soap and dryer sheets. All which make me break out in hives. I don't have to do that anymore. I wash my clothes with white vinegar and everything comes out really nice! This machine will take about a half a standard load of clothes. Leave a little extra room so that the clothes can slosh. You will have success if you follow the directions. Definitely level the machine! One more thing that I really like about this machine which really made us by it was the weight of the machine. It was heavier than most portable units. The stabilizing block was bigger and holds the drum stable while it spins. I recommend this machine
