The tumblers consist of a bowl mounted to a motorized base that vibrates to produce friction among the bowl's contents. This action grinds and polishes the objects without significantly altering their shape. Grinding and polishing mixtures can be added to create a variety of finishing effects. Raytech manufacturers metal finishing and gem processing equipment. The company, founded in 1958, is headquartered in Middletown, CT.
