This product is well-made and will last for years. To extend its life, I may add a poly liner to the inner walls so that the salts in fertilizers do not come in direct contact with the metal. I will place the unit upon a bed of wood chips to level and allow aeration. Finally, I will place 1/2 inch welded wire at the bottom to keep out voles and moles.
