He did use a power drill to tighten the bolts. Take your time and look at the pictures in the instructions for the right orientation of parts. The bed lifts up easily and stays up when you are getting something from the storage area.

The bed looks great! Instructions were easy to follow although it took about 2.5 hours to assemble since I didn't have a power drill. Hydraulic lifts make it easy to lift the 14 inch mattress. Incredible how much you can fit under the bed. Perfect for an apartment with limited space. Sturdy bed and looks expensive.
