Solid cast iron and easy enough to install. Great value. They give you everything you need, if you have some tools shouldn't be a problem. Just be careful of the orientation of the mounting plate when installing for when you actually twist on the rods connector as it will need a lineup with the one across.

Since it uses four screws per side, it is very stable and can hold heavier fabrics with no problem. I've installed countless curtain rods, I think this is the best of all.
