Garelick boat hook

I am very impressed with the quality of this boat hook. The 3 sections lock securely with just a twist and the tubing and handle have a good feel about them. Most importantly, the hook end feels strong and is guaranteed for life. I know there are cheaper competitors, but for the slight price difference, I would rather buy it once and have it for life.

Good pole...but...

I like the pole. It is easy to handle and works as expected. The down side; while using the pole only the second time, the handle grip slipped off. The grip is not glued on and just pulled off as I was using the pole. The entire pole just hung on the rope that I was removing from a piling. Over the water. With a swift current. If it fell we would never see it again. If not for the quick thinking of my husband who came to the rescue with our old pole (thank goodness we did not throw it out yet) we would have lost the pole. I pulled the boat over, he pulled the new pole toward the boat with the old pole and we rescued the pole. I plan to use a marine grade glue on the grip so this does not happen again.Luckily it stayed in my hand and did not fall into the water. I was both surprised and dismay because other wise, the pole is really great.
