Troy-Bilt 42" 747cc Mustang Zero-Turn Gas Lawn Mower with Kohler Engine, 17ARFACSA66

This is my first Zero-Turn mower. I have only purchased one other mower in my life. I still have that mower and it still mows very well. Many comments about how nice my lawn looks. But it was taking me hours to mow my lawn. The time it takes to mow with a ZT is not a sales pitch, it's for real. This machine is a beast. I have yet to stall it in tall grass. I also purchased the bagger assembly and it does a very good job of clearing grass clippings. A word of caution, it does not mow well at full speed. IT cuts the grass, but not cleanly. I have always had a smooth even cut on my other mower. To get that groomed look, the mower needs time to cut the grass. With that, there is no limit. I can mow however fast I want, this machine will do it without stalling. The only negative you might relate to this mower or any mower is that it takes practice to control the mower. The controls are very responsive. It will turn on command no matter how quickly you try. In doing so, it will tear up your lawn. It is super easy to change direction. No fighting with a steering wheel when trying to make a tight turn. It is not as comfortable as my old mower as my arms are constantly in a prone position. It can be unstable on uneven terrain. The frame is extremely stiff so you may need to adjust your angle of approach to ensure your mower deck is aligned with the ground. In some cases, I found that the rear wheels are on the ground but only one front wheel is rolling and the other is in the air because the ground is not flat. I rate this at 5 stars because it is powerful enough to mow my 1 acre yard without loading up the engine or stalling, no matter how long the grass. There is no seat belt or roll bar so safe operation is very important. I have hills and valleys in my yard. It can become dangerous quickly if you do not respect its power. FYI-Troy Bilt makes the same mower for the Craftsman ZT so I am running a Craftsman bagger.

delivery had a snag, arrived with busted tire. got solved and assembly was smooth. first mow was fantastic.
