Make sure that the striker lever will face in the right direction when the bell is mounted on the bar (either up or down-facing) or you'll have to start over -- Install is a little tricky, as the included spring-steel straps are pretty stiff - it's best to face the bell downwards to hook the selected strap (one length for either thick/thin area of the bar that you intend to mount it to) into the slot that captures it on one end, then flex it around the bar to fish it into the slot on the other side - once you get it in there, the strap will spring out into the small end of the slot, then you can rotate it (or leave it facing down, as I did), then tighten the hex screw to secure the bell. It might be helpful to use long-nose pliers to get the strap into the opposite slot if your fingers tire easily. They include a rubber strip to put around the bar to keep from scratching it with the strap - it didn't adhere well for me, and just made it harder to bend the strap into the right position - I just put a piece of clear packing tape around the bar where the strap went - much thinner and out of the way. Be careful that the bell doesn't touch anything else on the bar - that will mute the sound. The thin strap mounting system allows mounting in tight areas - a plus. Keep the unused mounting strap and hex key in case you want to move the bell, or change it to a different bike! Bell may not be a perfect match to the original, but has a loud, clear tone - and the lever can be thumbed easily and quickly for multliple soundings.
