Fortunately a neighbor stopped by and was able to get the screws out further so it worked. Otherwise they would have been returned.

They are an excellent choice for someone who needs them for a furniture that has legs with little holes to screw them in. My furniture is different and they didn't work for me. That's the only reason for me to asign 1 star for assembly. So, you should first check your furniture legs. Overall I think they are beautiful and sturdy.
