Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring

This feeder is expensive, but it seems to be worth it because the squirrels do not even try to penetrate it. They just eat whatever the birds drop to the ground. The only disappointment is that the cardinals do not eat at this feeder. I bought the most expensive model to get the "cardinal ring", but after a week no cardinal perches on. it. Chickadees, finches, sparrows and other bids flock to the feeder and rest on the ring while they enjoy the food. The cardinals love black oiled sunflower seeds which we provide in abundance, but the cardinals eat only the ones dropped on the ground or in the old feeder. The cardinals circle the Brome feeder, obviously attracted to the seeds, but they do not hop up to the ring perch or to a portal. I hope that they will overcome their hesitancy and use it soon.
