Very easy to install - make sure you follow directions and don't cut the one zip tie they tell you not to until the very end. And there is one metal and plastic packing piece that looks at first glance to be part of the gate, but isn't. That bit was the only confusion. Looks great and works well. We only had the smallest (30") opening, so we didn't need to add any of the extender pieces, but they didn't look overly complex either.

we got the gate to keep a space for my cats to go to get away from my German shepherd when he gets rowdy since he is younger then the cats. it works well when my dog runs into it full speed and he is 70lbs. the cat door lets the cats enter and exit when they want while keeping the dog out, we put ours across a door way in the studs, I like the gate swings both ways for entering and exiting the room.
