Each rod measures 7.9" in total length, and is 0.25" in diameter. The spade end of the rod measures 0.6" long and wide, and the button end measures 0.4" in diameter. Designed for use in professional laboratories, but is an ideal choice for science classrooms and household use.
Autoclavable, with superior chemical durability. Low temperature gradient- can withstand high temperatures & thermal shocks. Eisco Labs Borosilicate glass has the following heat tolerances: Strain Point -515?C | Annealing Point 565?C | Softening Point 820?C.

Perfect for Microwave use
Perfect for use in a microwave. I had to cut a few of them to make them shorter for my smallest microwave oven. But that's easy to do with a triangular file. I smoothed the cut ends with emery cloth, and they work perfectly. I use them with a large Pyrex measuring cup. I place the rods across the top of the cup, drape slices of bacon over them, and cook them. That way, the grease drains off into the cup. Works great! I might cut little dips into the sides of the cup with a rattail file to accommodate the rods.
