Vornado Velocity 3R Whole Room Space Heater with Timer, Adjustable Thermostat, LED Touch Controls, Powerful Heater for Bedroom and Home, White

I had purchased other space heaters in the past and always seemed to be drawn to one particular brand starting with an "L," but I had purchased an awesome fan made by Vornado this past summer (costlier than others, but having purchased one before that still works after 30 years, that's quite some return on your money!), so I thought I'd try one of THEIR space heaters for a change. I haven't had one regret since receiving it and turning it on. It's pretty self-explanatory how to operate it, but I do recommend reading the directions so that you'll know distancing away from other things, that it's *not* to be set on a table or used in a bathroom, etc., so that you don't do anything to void the 5-year warranty. Maybe it's required by law to state it, or it's for people with adjustable or really sensitive hearing aids, or they've just discovered that too many people live in a world where they think things with a motor shouldn't make the slightest sound at all, but the sound that comes from this heater while on is what I would describe as 'minimal' or 'very little,' as I don't really notice it. It's a little more noticeable on 'High,' but, to me, there are space heaters that ARE noisier, even on 'Low'. I wouldn't even put "noise" and "sound" in the same category. "Noise" is irritating and too easily heard, while sound isn't 'noise' and doesn't have to be loud. Just think of all the relaxation CDs that are sold, like the waves or tide of an ocean, for example. That's sound, but this heater wasn't designed for that since the sound has no pattern and it's not as noticeable. I hope this answers someone's question in enough detail, because that notice they report about decibels almost made me hesitate to buy it, and, as always, one reviewer had complained about the noise, but there's always one in every crowd. Now, does it warm the entire room (up to 250 s.f. or 10' x 25' for this heater)? Yes. I would suggest closing the door to whatever room you're trying to heat, though, I was even able to switch it to 'Low' and set the temperature lower. That's not because it got hot, only that it did the job it was meant to because I think the sensor for the temperature is more accurate due to it recirculating the warm air it's already created rather than just blowing out hot air out the front into a room that remains cold into some areas. Heat rises when not recirculated, too, which is another reason that I think the temperature readings on other types of space heaters aren't calibrated right. I haven't set the timer for any long periods yet, but it works just fine for the times I have set it for. Personally, I think you'll be pleased with this heater. (Just a little note in case you're trying to decide between a 3R or a 5R. The 5R has the same amount of coverage, which is 250 s.f., because I asked Sparky. If a remote control is something you actually need rather than just want, then you'll likely have to go with the 5R.)
