I felt very safe on this mat. Not slippery to walk on at all. Your feet sink in just right. I now have no fear of falling in the tub. One very important thing is to put a little water in the tub before you start pressing down on the suction cups. They will adhear to the tub securely.

I like this material better than the thick plastic

It's great, I like this material much better than the old fashioned thick plastic ones that mildew underneath and this one does prevent me from slipping on the tub surface however I noticed the suction cups slide under my weight a little bit but with careful stepping it's no big deal.
