There is definitely a learning curve. I would recommend finding some beginner templates online for your first few projects. After making several items, you start to get a much better feel for controlling the pen and building shapes. Once it clicks, it's incredibly fun. My only real complaint is that I wish it were battery-operated. The cord can occasionally get in the way, especially when you're also managing the filament. That said, it's a minor inconvenience and something you learn to work around pretty quickly. Overall, this has been a fantastic purchase and a lot of fun for all ages.
