I bought this to use as a toybox for my one year old grandson. I wanted "a piece of furniture", but I wanted something that wouldn't pinch his little fingers. I take the top off and the ottoman id low enough that he can reach in to get his toys. With the cover on (correctly - very important to put it on all the way so that the supports are in the right places) , we can sit on it, or he can stand and watch out the window. Once I had the box open, it took about 1 minute to assemble.

exactly what i needed! super sturdy. the design is pretty, i like the buttons. the cushion is just enough to sit on while i change my shoes, not for prolonged seating, but it's exactly what I need it for. i like the removable divider. i do wish, however, that i could decide where the divider goes instead of just the center, but i like the velcro solution for the divider. that actually made me happy because it really helps keep it in it's designated space. they are a little heavy but it's because they are made of sturdy wood which i'll take that over a flimsy, lightweight one.
