The lid fits perfectly. I particularly like the comfort of drinking from the cup. The lid can be adjusted to allow for the flow and temperature of the hot beverage. It fits comfortably in my hand (I have small hands). It's lightweight. As for how long it maintains temperature, I'm not sure. I do warm the cup with hot water before I put my hot beverage in (as I do for a regular cup of coffee). It works perfectly for me to take a cup of coffee outside or to a social event in my apartment building. I think it's a good value and am pleased with my purchase.
