It is designed to insert in between the vehicle-trailer wiring connection and is compatible with any industry-standard 7-way RV blade plug. This design also allows the Echo to be easily transferred between vehicles, making it perfect for fleet vehicles or multiple-vehicle owners. The Echo mobile trailer brake controller is built to withstand the outdoor elements, whether you're towing through rain, snow or sunshine. It features a potted enclosure. This means the interior of the Echo is filled with an epoxy resin that covers the internal electronics and seals them off from dirt and moisture. This promotes long-lasting durability and also helps reduce vibration. I have a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan and tho it will tow 3500%23 it's not conducive for a trailer brake install. This was recommended. It was easy to use, tho it kept saying lost Bluetooth, it will still work at the last setting that you installed. Going from a 4 pin towing harness to a 7 pin towing harness was a snap. I can now tow my flatbed trailer, boat, and my larger camper that needs brakes. Set up was super easy. I chose to use a zip tow in addition to the Velcro strap they provided so as not to loose it when using. I also like the feature that you just take it out and put it inside your vehicle when not using. The install would be super easy for a do it yourself type car guy. I can no longer get on the ground for these kind of jobs so I took it in and it cost me $230 for the install. If you are in the situation where you cannot install trailer brake with controller inside on your dashboard, this is a good alternative.
