I was surprised at the quality . I generally dont like hardrives, but 8TB was to temping to pass up as a backup . I did a full low level format when I got it .... which took like 3-4 days . The speed is not impressive of course , but the capacity is so large i can litterally make folders on it that sais " SSD 3" . This is purely for backup purposes . This drive wont be used once it makes it past the multi day writing process . Dont expect performance, expect capacity for cheap . 8TB is quite a lot for a bit over 100$

Good value from a reliable manufacturer

Good amount of storage for a reasonable price. Using this for backups - comes with Seagate backup software. Quiet and fast. Have not encountered any problems, though its too early to assess durability and reliability; that said, I have several other Seagate external drives which have all been trouble free over 5 years or more. Also comes with good-quality power supply and plug adapters for many international standards: US, Europe, UK, etc. Well-packaged. Minor quibble - I don't like the fact that the drive end of the USB connector cable is a proprietary design. Supplied cable fits USB-A ports; if you need USB-C, you will need to buy another cable from Seagate.
