Reolink PoE 8-Channel NVR System, 4x 12MP Spotlight Cameras, 2TB HDD, Smart Detection, RLK8-1200B4-A

Installation was easy.

Expensive, but worth the extra money. I replaced an old 8 channel Reolink DVR with 4MP cameras with this one, eight 12MP cameras, as a security measure at a business location. Uploading video to a remote site is far smoother and pain-free than with the old DVR. The new cameras have more controls available, better picture quality (aside from 3x the resolution), better at adjusting the contrast between bright and dim areas in the same scene. Only con I noted was that the Cat.5 cable is not twisted-pair, so doubtful it'll carry a signal as far in case one needs to patch two or more cables together for a really long run. I turned off the IR lights due to reflections from the windows and it still has a decent picture in the dark. Also turned off the spotlight feature as I don't want to alert anyone to the location of the camera. Be careful when syncing a new camera to the DVR. I have the same model DVR which I use at home, and after syncing a 12MP camera to the business DVR, the home DVR reported it was already in use and refused to connect to it. Most likely there's a way to overcome this but since I had other cameras I didn't bother researching it.
