This carafe keeps the products hot or cold long enough for my purposes. Certainly better than leaving coffee in the pot on the coffeemaker's heating plate too long, the hotplate keeps it too hot and it gets a "burned" taste after a while. The only downside is the lid is hard to close enough to line up the spout trigger with the handle. Nice seal but using the spout opening as leverage to properly tighten the lid might lead to a short lifespan for the carafe.

This is a nice coffee thermos for home and office. For a dinner party, it looks good on the table. I love coffee and I became tired of the burnt taste after a pot of coffee sat on the burner. I decided to switch to a thermos. I purchased the green version. This unit feels like quality and looks very good. It is big (fat) and holds a 12-cup coffee pot exactly. After 4 hours, the coffee is still hot. After 8 hours, luke-warm. 20-30 seconds if the microwave fixes that for a large cup of coffee. You are pushing it at 12 hours as the coffee is starting to get bitter but I don't feel that is the thermos' fault. Coffee gets old, stale and bitter over time. Tip: I pre-warm the thermos with tap hot water while the coffee is brewing. Overall value, excellent. This is a very nice thermos for the price.
