Overall, I am fairly happy with these kids mesh gym shorts. They are exactly what I would expect – a thin fabric with holes in it. There are 2 layers so the holes aren’t exactly lined up with each other, which allows for a little coverage from seeing right through the shorts. However, my kids still wear solid black underwear with their mesh shorts. I do think these run really small, which is a downside if you’re hoping for similar sizing based on what you buy from other brands. My youngest son wears a small or medium in shorts, and I got these in an XL and they fit him fine. The length is good and the waist isn’t too tight, and not baggy either. There are no pockets, but that is fine with me because I got them for sports and don’t want him putting things in his pocket during the games anyway – but that’s something to be aware of if you’re wanting pockets. After washing these shorts, they seem to be a little bit softer than when we first received the shorts, but the fabric isn’t going to allow them to be soft like a cotton. I would definitely recommend these shorts if you need a solid black mesh short for your child!
