Lightweight cotton seems perfect for summer. I have not washed them yet. Might come back to change review. True to size on waist and hips...but they seem a bit long. (then again, I am short...LOL. There is NO elastic in the waist at all, but the tie is easy to cinch. I'd recommend it for the fabric weight alone, but when a fabric is thin, you need to remember that your underwear will show. I wear beige briefs and it looked perfect.
