used/or old

arrived late and looked like it had been used. the hose wouldn't stay on but it could have been old or used I don't know. long story short it made a mess in my boat so I just sent it back.

Old stock.....rotted rubber

I received the pump and went right away to use it. The black tube was so old it had dried out and cracked when I attempted to put it on the pump fitting. VERY aggravating. I cut the end off and was able to get it on enough to try pumping....which worked, but really one needs a clear hose to see the flow. SO....Walmart......watch your suppliers! This one is selling ancient stock that has deteriorated materials. The pump seems to be ok, but I wonder if there will be a short life if interior rubbers gaskets and grommets are also old and cracked. I would have returned it, but needed it right away and it did function once I was able to get a good enough hose connection to the pump. I think I will look for a powered pump or crank for next year. The in/out motion while hanging over the edge of the engine bay got old pretty quickly.
