I absolutely LOVE these Colored Pencils! Of course, they're great for paper, but I've been using them mostly for coloring Wood! • [NOTE: BUY A METAL PENCIL SHARPENER! So the leads don't snap off while you sharpen them--this was a huge problem with cheap sharpeners!]• There are far too many pencils to leave in the box they came in, or to keep in a box laying down. So I bought a plastic divided lazy-susan and some poster board to separate the colors by categories that made sense to me. (There are close to 10 'almond' shades for skin tones, 10 purple shades, etc.! See photos.) It's so handy! --- I also altered the color chart on the back of the box with cut-outs and a sheet of white paper so I could show how the ACTUAL colors look (the printed ones are not accurate as you can see). This way, I can choose my project colors using the chart, or choose options and use a scrap of paper to compare them! **These pencil colors blend well, and are an excellent high-quality for the mid-price range. They have a slight wax/chalk effect on rough wood. ***Sand wood well first and preserve with poly-spray after coloring is complete (NOT a brush-on application like Mod-Podge--it will darken and spread colors)!
