Gabrialla Unisex Microfiber Thigh-High Graduated Compression Stockings (25-35 mmHg): H-306

I have lymphedema in my left left following cancer surgery, lymph node removal, pelvic area. The lymphedema occurred in April, 2013. After trying numerous brands (Jobst, Futura, Tru Form,) and styles (pantyhose vs thigh highs) I feel this product is far superior. I am 5'5" 180 lbs. with a lot of weight in my thigh area. I was having trouble finding a size that was not too tight in the upper thigh. I also had to buy garter belts to hold up the thigh high hose. These thigh high support hose stayed in place, were not too tight, and did not "roll" over onto itself. However, if you feel you do need a garter belt, the top part of the hose will allow for that. Pantyhose in compression hose, forget it. Hot, always twisting and pinching somewhere, usually behind the knee. If Gabrialla makes a Panyhose style, I may try them because I like the thigh highs so much. I don't know, I haven't had much luck with the compression pantyhose. The lymphedema clinic tech told me I would have to wear thigh high compression hose and that the clinic would have them made specifically for me. I haven't gone that route yet as I thought I could find them on the market. Anyway, back to the Gabrialla thigh high hose. I put these on along with the garter belt because I figured I would need it anyway. To my surprise these thigh high hose stayed up, about 4 inches above my knees without the garter belt. They stayed put the entire day and I am very active, working outside mowing and other yard activities. I wear jeans mostly but I think the mid calf spandex jeggings would also help in keeping the thigh highs in place. I have moderate lymphedema so I am okay with the 25-35 mm Hg. compression. A higher rating in compression would be nice, but these still keep the swelling at a minimum. You folks out there with lymphedema or other leg issues. I have worn the pantyhose style and read that the crotch area can be cut out to make the hose more bearable in the summer time. I have tried this and it does work. Removing the crotch area of the pantyhose did not cause tearing or runs and did not compromise the integrity of the compression at all. I bought the beige color thigh highs in the XXL and also the black in XXL. I just ordered another identical set just in case this brand, Gabrialla, which I am not familiar with, becomes obsolete.
