This was a Christmas gift for our six-year old grandson who recently took up chess. When I realized it was supposed to be for children 12 and had 1,024 pieces we almost didn't give it to him. But, he's very good with Legos so we did give it to him, figuring his parents could help. It turned out he did the whole thing without and parent help and in one sitting. Best of all, he loves it!!
