My family and I took the base and an 8ft cantalivered umbrella with us to use during our summer vacation. The house we rented was right on the Pacific Ocean. We decided to fill the bases 4 sections with 72lbs of sand instead of filling them with 50lbs of water. Even during windy periods, the base held our umbrella in place beautifully. We hardly noticed any movement at all . If your looking for a well constructed umbrella base that holds up to the elements and is easy to set up, then this is the umbrella base for you.. i highly recommend that you purchase this one.
