Merced River Yosemite Valley Framed Print, Albert Bierstadt Wall Art

Mist, pines, and golden light along the Merced. A framed print of Merced River, Yosemite Valley by Albert Bierstadt, for hikers and park lovers, made in the USA by a family-owned shop. One size, 14"x11", wall hanger attached.

Tall granite cliffs climb out of drifting mist over the winding Merced River in this framed print of Merced River, Yosemite Valley by Albert Bierstadt. It suits national park fans, hikers, and anyone who wants a calm, sweeping landscape over a sofa, bed, or desk. It is a restful scene for busy rooms.

In 1866, while the Hudson River School was at its peak, Bierstadt painted the scene. Tall pines and a golden meadow catch the late afternoon sun, and deer graze quietly at the water's edge. The soft blues, forest greens, and glowing light give it the hushed grandeur that made his views of the American West so admired. The mist drifting between the cliffs gives the scene a quiet, early-morning feel. The tones are gentle, from misty blue to forest green to gold, so the painting calms a space rather than crowding it.

This framed print is 14"x11", a wide format that gives the cliffs and river plenty of space. A wall hanger is attached to the back, and a nail is not included. It fits above a mantel, over a sofa, in a study or den, or beside a reading chair, and it layers well with pine, deer, or waterfall pictures in a lodge or mountain-home gallery wall. Because the view is calm, it also works in a bedroom or guest room where you want a peaceful backdrop. It suits an office wall, where the open view gives tired eyes a place to rest.

Pick from Black, Barnwood, Charcoal, or Walnut. Barnwood and Walnut are finish names for the polystyrene moulding, not wood. Warm finishes suit cabin and lodge rooms, while Black or Charcoal lets the misty blues stand out in a contemporary space. A clear acrylic front panel covers the paper print, and each piece is printed and framed by hand in the USA by a family-owned shop. The clear front panel keeps the print protected from dust and daily handling. The finish you pick can lean rustic or modern without losing the mood of the painting.

It makes a good gift for a hiker, a camper, a park ranger, or anyone who has stood in Yosemite Valley. It also suits a housewarming, a new home, a cabin, or an art collector who enjoys Bierstadt. Give it when you want to carry a quiet window onto the outdoors into someone's home. It also suits a retired couple, a young family, or a ranger on a gift list.
