I couldn't wait to receive this package as I am not familiar with the pink salt lamps at all. Well I can tell you that it does add this calming peaceful effect to a room. It is NOT a pink salt lamp. It is more white than pink. I have had several of them and they were all pink and has a nice shape to them. This one is not pink and not pleasing to look at. I have it sitting on the floor next to my recliner and I couldn't believe that the base wasn't attached to it. It sits on a wooden base with a light in it. What happens when the light burns out? You're out of luck. I am really not happy with the light, but I can't get out to send it back so I am stuck with it.

The lamp is smaller than I expected and, although it has a dimmer switch, it was no evident al all how it was supposed to be used. I had a few back and forth emails with the supplier and they finally explained how the dimmer switch works. I would never have figured it out. I suggested that the "instructions" include information on how the dimmer works since it was not at all obvious, at least not to me.
