[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In a trip overseas I was introduced to bidets and my mind was blown. Not only are they a commonplace (whereas they remain mostly exclusive to only the best hotels in the States), but the functionality seems so basic to the deed that it seemed strange and such a step backwards when I returned home to old ways. Look, we have voice assistants that control every aspect of our homes from the future, electric vehicles chauffeuring us to destinations, the close to the entirety of human knowledge in our hands, yet somehow my home has not experienced any evolution in this space? It is time for a change! In doing my homework I found that retrofit options generally lack overall functionality, critical integrated features, and cleanliness. Quality and reliability also emerge as huge concerns because failure of a device connected to your water lines will be catastrophic to your home. No thanks! Research continued and I was pleased to find the FUFU&GAGA/TOTTE elongated smart bidet. I was unfamiliar with the brand, but it is sold by the major home improvement box stores and retailers, so I had confidence going in that this is a product I can trust. The price point is also excellent and highly affordable. I must add that installation is FAR easier than I expected, so I only needed an outlet run and I was able to field the remainder of the upgrade myself with only a couple hours spent. The instructions are very clear with illustrations for each step, and the bidet arrives mostly assembled so there are very few components to manipulate. Let's talk features, because this is why you install a real bidet and not a toilet squirt gun. The auto open and close lid functions hands-free is an automatic game changer and when I am out in the wild and use a toilet other than mine, I arrive with the routine expectation of this concierge treatment I am disappointed every time. Customized water heat levels, self-cleaning, auto-flush, air dryer, a heated seat – the list goes on! New to me is that this bidet offers a foam shield, so the dreaded splash back is rendered impossible while odors are also trapped beneath the surface. UV-c maintains sterilization, and a reasonable (and not obnoxious) LED display gives you all the information you need. This product is the perfect balance of high-end features backed by an exceptionally reasonable price, further enhanced by an unexpectedly simple installation procedure. My only dislike is that I spent years using caveman technology before I committed to the change – I simply had no idea how easy it would be to attain the future in my bathroom! The single difficult part of the installation was creating a GFCI outlet to power the unit, and I gladly let the pros handle that (not very expensive and always better safe than sorry for something like this). Mounting the bidet was a breeze for one person and the included wax ring and high quality fitting pieces made the job extremely easy to get right the first time. Bottom line is don't be yesterday me – do yourself the favor now and not years later so you can enjoy your bidet starting tomorrow and every day after
